Gorey Community School, one of the largest second
level in the country, together with many excellent
primary, national and vocational schools in the
area, all of which provide full educational, recreational
sport activities.
The Gorey area is very well serviced with hotels
and Bord Fáilte accommodation with full leisure
facilities, ie. tennis, GAA, hurling, football,
handball, squash, soccer, rugby, gymnastics, boxing,
tae k-wondo and equestrian sports are all traditional
activities of the area.
Gorey night life is also very well catered for with
regular drama and musical society events and a wide
variety of pubs and resteraunts to choose from Courtown
Golf Club and a host of other excellent golf clubs,
Arklow, Woodenbridge, Coolattin and Enniscorthy
all within 15 - 20 minutes drive. Courtown is also
home to splashworld, the most modern water park
in Ireland.
Eleven Bus Eireann Services operate Gorey - Dublin
route together with at least two other private operators.
There are also three train services operating between
Dublin - Rosslare Ferryport, which stop at Gorey.
